Kiss Gel Fantasy

A few weeks ago I received the Calinte  Voxbox from Influenster and as a part of it I received Kiss Gel Fantasy nails to review. Normally I’m not into any type of manicure if it involves more than paint. You can see from my blog I am all about my natural nails and, honestly, I had a bad experience each time I got acrylic nails. But that’s another story for another day. Anyways onto the review.

These nails remind me so much of my sister, almost every week she goes to the salon to get her nails done. I don’t know about you but that seems like a lot of money wasted. I told her this is a way better choice. The pack costs $2.99 (depending on what store you go to), so for that price versus the nail salon, you can’t go wrong there.2014-07-31 15.49.29

The pack brings of course the nails but also adhesive tabs, nail glue, and a small nail file. Each pack brings 24 nails all different sizes numbered from 0 to 12. First step is to clean off your nails so the tabs will stick to the nails. I will admit the tabs were my least favorite part of putting on these nails. I couldn’t figure out if I had to take it off the backing then stick it to the nail or try putting it off the nail and slowly removing the backing as I put it in place. I tried both ways and each time it ended ugly. The tabs are also numbered and the nail number is the same. If you use a 3 tab on your nail then the nail you would use is 3.

This was using the removing backing first method:

Kind of hard to tell but the tab wrinkled and the corner broke off.

This one is using the remove as you go method:

Both corner came off of the nail and the tab was now a triangle shape.

I know the tab is there so you don’t have to put the glue directly on the nail, but these things were just to difficult to put on. The either got stuck to my finger or went on wrinkled, just so frustrating.

After that I found the corresponding nail, put some glue on the back and glue on my nail, then stuck the nail on.

Not bad, huh?

I used the nail file in the pack to shape the nails to my liking.

I rounded the nails to look more like my natural nail. As you can see I was kind of bad with the sticking part. There’s air bubbles under the nail- this is actually my fault than the makers.

And if your wondering no I didn’t cut or file down my nails.

You can even see my pinky was just the same size as the fake nail.

Overall these were nice nails but I prefer my real nails. These lasted about 3 days but they would of lasted longer had I not taken them off. I’ve never liked fake nails. The take off was easy with no damage to my real nail. I highly recommend these to someone who wants that salon look without paying that salon price. They have many different looks. I would really like to try out Painted Veil; the ones I tried are called Rush Hour.

My first Vox Box

I am so excited to announce I finally received a vox box from Influenster. I wanted to give myself so time to try most of the products before I made my post. I received Vaseline Spray and Go moisturizer (something I’ve been wanting to try for a while), Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleaning Clothes, Montagne Jeunesse Masque, NYC City Proof Twistable Lip Color, two Pure Ice nail polishes (After Hours and It’s Complicated), and a Shell Fuel Rewards Network card.

I’ve tried everything except for the Shell card (I didn’t have a laptop to sign up, but I’m going to now). I use the lip color everyday; I love the deep red color and the way it glides on is amazing. No matter how much water drinking I do in the day this lip color stands up. I feel this lip color is going to last me a while (but I’m not complaining 😉 )

My next favorite item is the Vaseline Spray and Go moisturizer; it’s become a part of my morning routine. I know your suppose to put it on before you put on your clothes but I’m not one for using any type of moisturizer. Baby steps I use it on my arms and feet and will be moving up to legs soon haha. My fiance is used to the regular Vaseline coco butter cream but I’ve opened him the Spray and Go. There’s even a male one but he prefers coco butter. I don’t normally use cream because I don’t like the way it feels, so the Spray and Go is a perfect alternative for me. It doesn’t have that greasy feel to it and like the name suggests you just spray and go.

In this picture I sprayed in three separate spots: the bottom towards the wrist I rubbed in, the middle I rubbed a little, and the upper part I didn’t touch. Way cool.

I’m not one for face products but I really like the Cetaphil cleansing clothes and Montagne Jeunesse Masque. The cleaning cloths are okay; because I have sensitive skin most products burn my face. Compared to other products the cleaning cloths didn’t burn my face as bad, there was a slight tingle but other than that, nothing. I “wash” my face in the shower or so I thought until I used the Cetaphil cleansing cloths; I’ll let the picture speak for itself.

Yeah that’s all dirt on there. It’s not shadows or the blanket coming through, that’s all dirt from my face. EEWWW. I’m so glad to have these Cetaphil cloths- I keep them in my make up bag now.

Another product I never thought I’d use in a million years- a face masque. I’ve used in the past but like cleaning wipes it would burn my face. I must say I really enjoyed using this masque, it’s like a tiny spa trip in my bathroom. Next time I use it I’ll make sure to throw some bath bombs in the tub and just mellow out. A nice glass of wine would make it perfect.

The bad thing was Nicolas was scared of me. Well not entirely bad, actually kind of funny.

Few seconds after application:

Almost time to take it off:

I think I’m going to stock up on these because I look and feel gorgeous after using them.

And last but not least the Pure Ice nail polish. I’ve always been a big fan of Pure Ice, the easy way the polish glides on and it only takes one coat is why I love it. I always have to make a design so I decided to use After Hours and It’s Complicated together. The end result:

This is my manicure from last week if it looks familiar.

Hope you enjoyed my review of my first ever vox box, hoping I continue to receive more amazing products.

Party in the Garden Nails

This manicure was a part of a review for two Pure Ice nail polishes through Influenster Viva voxbox. I know I said a couple months ago I was giving up on Pure Ice for having a parent company that does testing but I’m still on the fence about completely doing away with them. I ❤ Pure Ice and would love them to force their parent company to stop animal testing; but I guess you can’t change who your family is right? Anyways on to my review/mani.

I started out with a clear base like always then used Pure Ice After Hours. Normally I would object to pink but this pink has such a deep color I didn’t care.

Next step was to add glitter to all my fingers except for my ring finger. I was planning a nice design for that one. I used Pure Ice It’s Complicated.

Image

Kinda looks like party confetti doesn’t it?

Next step was the design on my ring finger. I decided since it’s Spring (at least according to the calendar) I would make a favorite flower design of mine. I did the same design last year but on all of my fingers.

For this design I used two of my polishes from a five piece set (won it in my first international giveaway.) I used Rimmel London Midnight Rendezvous and Oragasm (yeah that’s really the name).

Last step is clean up and a nice top coat. I love the flower design the best, orange in my opinion is always the best color to use.
